Leaders of the suffragette movement, Christabel and Sylvia Pankhurst, were members of the (mixed sex - unusual at the time) cycling club Clarion CC with the motto "fellowship is life". Incidentally, Brussels also has its own women's cycling club called the CCC Casual Cycling Club 😀

Yesterday we celebrated two years of Casual Cycling Club👏 We went for a lovely ride in the countryside, with women pushing their boundaries and having fun on their bikes together! Followed by a lovely picnic in the sun ☀️

This is why we created Casual Cycling Club - so that women can cycle together, and not feel out of place. And gain confidence in a culture which supports and encourages them 😌 But I hope that gradually, mixed clubs will change as well.
