Does Tokyo Have Bike Lanes? youtube.com/watch?v=_-s5_c… Tokyo is not just a city for public transit, you'd be surprised how effective its cycling system is, as well as where it can improve.

In 2009, a small change to the way Ottawa collects Development Charges resulted in a very significant subsidy on sprawl. This change was made by city staff, against the direction of council, buried in a 450 page background study, and nobody on council seems to have noticed.🧵

My amending motion to restore LRT service to 7 minute off-peak frequency until such a time as we can make a data-based decision on true ridership levels failed narrowly in a 13-to-12 vote. If Council can’t support this common sense solution, get ready for more pain to come.

Imagine a Premier of a Canadian province lying to his people, hoping they’re gullible enough to believe that a city filled with suburban car commuters fuelled by car-dependent suburban sprawl, and blaming people on bikes for elite athletes walking to a game. He hopes we’re dumb.

Unless you commute by bike as many workers in Toronto do, or drive or take transit because all those folks using the key bike lanes downtown will need to find a new way to get around. To call them “poorly planned” is just crazy, they are best practice and the gov is regressive.

Loving the new digital displays on the new O-Train Line 2 trains, but I wonder if we can improve it further with connecting bus info and improving clarity #ottawa #octranspo

The issues behind OC Transpo’s low reliability are not just theirs to blame for - the city and mayor have a direct responsibility as well. Learn more about this in my latest video: youtu.be/0QKjoO5HWCE?si…
