1/4 We’re excited to share two major papers out Science Translational Medicine showing the many benefits of synNotch CAR circuits for the treatment of solid tumors. Axel Hyrenius-Wittsten, an incredible postdoc Roybal Lab, led the studies in Ovarian Cancer and Mesothelioma. tinyurl.com/drje876u

Excited to share new work w/ co-lead Camillia Azimi, @MarsonLab Jeff Bluestone Roybal Lab: using a method we call 'CAR Pooling', we tested many CARs in multiplex & found new non-T cell signaling domains which improve CAR-T efficacy. biorxiv.org/cgi/content/sh… 👇🧵 1/10

This movie from Casey and co.’s previous Science paper shows how T cell receptor engagements stabilize microvillar projections. Casey did an awesome job extending this to study CARs, which she shows must be engineered to grapple with the same cell biology.

Exhausted T cells and Tumor macrophages are symbiotic. Kelly Kersten shows TAM induce a unique synapse, priming Tex for exhaustion w/o inducing proliferation. Meanwhile Tex attract and promote TAMs. ZipSeq shows this is spatially localized in tumors. https://tinyurl/TAMTex

(1/n) Excited to share pre-print of some of my post-pandemic work. How do we identify new immune and non-immune cell crosstalk mechanisms in the healing skin wound and how can we relate this to the tumor microenvironment? biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
