When your guest teacher walks in and it’s your own former 2nd grade teacher! Mrs. Groenendyk was the best! She would play the piano and we would sing, and she taught me to love writing and journaling. It was SO good catching up with her. Totally made my day. 💕

The 1st annual Lakewood Staff vs. Student basketball game was a great success. Some awesome LW alums came to help the teachers play and we STILL lost to the 5th graders 39-37. Teachers are going to have to get some extra practice sessions in before next year. #GoWO Lakewood Elementary

We LOVED seeing Elf today! My student next to me- “How do they do this?! It’s like watching a movie only with real people!” He had never seen a live performance like this before. Grateful to West Ottawa Public Schools and West Ottawa Theater for making this happen for our fifth graders today 🖤🤍

This fall we had the pleasure of hosting Miss Kim from the Hope College ed. dept. She’s an international student from S. Korea. Today, she taught us about life/schools in Korea, and how different it is! We learned Korean, and enjoyed snacks with our Korean names on them! #GoWO
