Very good point from Prof Larry Hedges. Interventions are not panaceas. Embrace “small” effect sizes. A lifetime of inequality can’t be fully overturned by a (cheap) intervention, but the interventions are still worthwhile.

Prof Hedges explains why evaluation of educational programmes is needed. There is a tendency to move from innovation to innovation without properly figuring out what actually works. This leads to a cycle of wasted time and effort. Is it a US-only problem? #edchatie
