Primary 6 have been learning about buoyancy in Science 🛶 We were tasked with making a boat out of tinfoil and seeing how many marbles would fit into it before sinking. We discovered that density and surface area were very important! Carmondean PS #STEM #forces

Primary 6S were continuing to develop their badminton skills today. We discussed using the scoring system in practice, working well with a variety of partners and even had a game of doubles! 🏸 @Mrs_ScottCPS

P5, 6 and 7 had a very enjoyable afternoon with the author Barbara Henderson who told us all about her new novel ‘Rivet Boy’. There was lots of interactive fun with an exciting quiz too! Thank you to Barbara for visiting us. Barbara Henderson Primary 7B

This week P6S began work on measure in maths 📏 . As part of #MondayMania we took our learning outdoors. We estimated, measured, found the difference between 2 measurements and converted between metres and centimetres in our environment 🌳 @Mrs_ScottCPS

Today Primary 6S invited our families into school for our first ever Learning Breakfast 😊 We loved sharing our learning with each other and our families whilst enjoying some tasty treats @Mrs_ScottCPS

Things got a bit messy in P6 yesterday in Science when we used weetabix, orange juice, water, a plastic bag, a pair of tights and some cups to imitate the movement of food through the digestive system! 🥗🥞🥖🥙 @Mrs_ScottCPS West Lothian STEM

In PE Primary 3 are working hard to improve their ball skills 🏀 On Monday we worked on dribbling and passing with a basketball Primary 3

Today P3 & P2/3 went on a sound walk. We used beaters to make different sounds and described them. "Bang" "Jingle" "Clanging" and "Puffing" were some of the excellent adjectives we came up with. Not even the rain could stop us! 🌧 Primary 3 Miss R #learningoutdoors

Today P3 & P2/3 went outdoors to find fallen leaves 🍂 We then drew around them and others had to match up the leaves to the correct drawings. We will continue to go oudoors to look for signs of autumn in the coming months! #outdoors Miss R Primary 3

As part of Challenge Poverty Week P2 & P2/3 listened to “A Place to Stay” during milk and story time. We discussed how the characters were feeling and if we could relate to the feelings or experiences in the story #ChallengePoverty #CPW24 Primary 3 Miss R WL Equity

Today P3 used their knowledge of 3D shape to create Halloween treat boxes. They look fabulous! Primary 3

Primary 3 have been looking at the Water Cycle and the process of Evaporation, Condensation and Precipitation. We learnt about it in different ways including making our own and observing the changes throughout the day as well as exploring the process using Lego.

Today P3 visited the nursery garden where Miss Allen and Mr McLaughlin led a session at the fire pit. We learned how to make a fire and how to stay safe around a fire pit. The s’mores were delicious! 😋 Thank you CarmondeanELC!

Today in P3 we were learning about the importance of being active. We learned that exercise helps to keep our heart and muscles healthy and strong. We loved our active afternoon moving our bodies in the classroom and in the gym hall during PE! Primary 3
