In yet another blow for #Carlisle city centre, Fisher Street's Cumbria Travel will not re-open after lockdown. They will continue to trade online, and from their premises in #Whitehaven and #Workington.

The Market Hall is an under-valued asset that could bring tourists to the city. Everyone is bored of identical high streets - a market is a real point of difference. Stalls are available from £55 p/w and pop-ups from £15 per day. Why not test drive your retail dreams? #Carlisle

During May our Facebook posts reached over 100k people. We don't often have that kind of success but it proves our potential reach. Why not grab some of that attention by working with us? We'll share your retail new for free or if you want something more, just ask. #Carlisle

Musician Paul Heaton (The Beautiful South, The Housemartins) is 60 today. To mark the occasion he's put £1000 behind the bar of 60 pubs so that fans can have a drink on him, including The Sportsman's Inn, #Carlisle What a proper gent!

Application for new drive-thru on the St Nicholas retail park. My face trying to get back out onto London Road from ASDA/B&M as it currently is:🙄 Lord knows what it will be like if the planning goes through. #Carlisle

Confirmed: #Tesco is to close its Viaduct store towards the end of the year, leaving M&S as #Carlisle's only city-centre supermarket. The firm says it is actively pursuing an alternative site for a smaller 'Extra' store.
