A Canadian water bomber assisting Americans to save their homes in California. We were not asked to go. We want nothing in return. Our crews are there risking their lives because Americans are our neighbours and that is what friends do….help each other in times of need.

A Canadair CL 415 water bomber developed by Canada specifically to fight forest fires. Newfoundland has a fleet of these that we routinely sent to America every year to help them fight their wild fires. That is who we are. Good neighbours and Newfoundlanders are damn proud of it.

As we sit safely at home tonight our hearts and prayers go out to the Americans fighting to save Los Angeles. Almost every Canadian Province has now sent their water bombers and fire fighting crews to California in an effort to assist them.
