THE MOUSE PREFRONTAL CORTEX: UNITY IN DIVERSITY What does the past decade’s research on the mouse PFC reveal about the structure and function of this brain region? Sofie Ährlund, Marie Carlén and I address this question in a Perspective Neuron out today!bit.ly/2Quh7hN

Chunlei Zhang & team dissect the circuit basis of pre-movement membrane potential ramps in frontal neurons. We are thrilled that our work is now published Cell Reports! cell.com/cell-reports/f…

The Carlenlab is looking to hire! Positions: postdoc x2, PhD, research assistant, all with a focus on the structure and functions of the prefrontal cortex. Links and information are found in the thread. Come join us Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm, Sweden! 🙏 for RTs. #PFC

I can't believe the The CAJAL Advanced Neuroscience Training Programme in Bordeaux School Of Neuroscience 🧠 is already over! This has been such a great experience. We could try out some of the most recent recording and optogenetics tools - intense but a lot of fun. Thank you all for these three weeks, I hope we'll meet again soon.

Our work on how the hippocampus processes novelty to form new memories is now published Nature Communications! Using in vivo ephys, virtual reality and modelling, we found a synaptic signal in DG that could work as a switch from recall to new memory formation. 📜: nature.com/articles/s4146…

I'm excited to share our ongoing work describing the dessert diversity at the canteen Institut Pasteur, since 1887 ! 🧁 This study included extensive sampling of 102 independent samples over 3 years. Here's a 🧵 of our key findings. 1/7

How are sensory responses in the dorsal striatum shaped by movement? How does dopamine fit in? In vivo whole-cell “optopatcher” recordings and more, in this study with Roberto de la Torre & Maya Ketzef, online today! nature.com/articles/s4146…

Today out Nature Neuroscience Estrogen sensitive neurons control stress sensitivity in females and aversive state. What a beautiful journey, together Fuzik Janos Pierre Le Merre @meletislab Marie Carlén. So proud of this work! #CuriosityDrivenScience nature.com/articles/s4159…

So excited to have this paper out there ⚡ We've applied #spatialtranscriptomics on dystrophic skeletal muscle to unravel markers related to histopathological changes in #Duchenne mouse models. Thanks @PSpitali AnnemiekeAartsma-Rus Ahmed Mahfouz🤝 nature.com/articles/s4146… #myotwitter

Thrilled to share our new paper on how hippocampal circuits weigh egocentric and allocentric information to produce the cognitive map of the external environment Christoph Schmidt-Hieber Bérénice Gandit Lorenzo Posani Cantin Ortiz cell.com/iscience/fullt…

I almost never post, but if anyone is still around: I moved to 🦋, Cantin Ortiz.bsky.social. Also, moved to Oslo for my postdoc after defending my PhD last year!
