The International Court of Justice has issued a momentous ruling recognising grounds for South Africa's genocide case against Israel. Our politicians must heed today's call for provisional measures to stop the slaughter and start pushing for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire.

Historic ruling. The International Court of Justice acknowledges the devastation caused by the Israeli government’s actions. It concludes that there is a plausible risk of genocide in Gaza. The seriousness of this cannot be overstated.

The International Court of Justice ruling today should be a wake up call to world leaders. The brutality of Israeli military action in Gaza is unacceptable and far too many innocent civilians have died. We need an immediate ceasefire.

This must be a turning point. The International Court of Justice has ruled against Israel, ordering it to prevent acts of genocide in Gaza. Our government must heed this judgement, ending arms sales to Israel and demanding an immediate ceasefire.

In Rafah, 1.5 million people are crammed in a space the size of Heathrow. A ground invasion would be a disaster beyond belief. The UK government must be unequivocal: the massacre of Gaza needs to stop now. Tomorrow I will once again be voting to call for an immediate ceasefire.
