Another great trip to the Think Big Space for the 5th graders who had their trip rescheduled because of the snow day in January. During their visit they had a chance to take part in many activities such as Space break-out rooms, coding ozobots, and building cardboard creations!

We are super excited to show off our student's talents this evening at the CMS Play "The Fairy Tale Network". We also have a sneak peek into our "Forest Exhibit" created by our STEM and Library students!

Mr. Farley was a guest speaker today to talk with students about being a pilot and also share how flight works with many hands-on examples! What a great enrichment experience students could sign up for during WIN period!

Tomorrow is the CMS Talent Show! Several families have asked about recording the acts so they could see their students perform. We plan to record both the 5th and 6th-grade acts and will post the compiled videos for all to view!

Our CMS students did an amazing job at the Talent Show today! The courage it took to perform in front of their peers and the amazing response they received from the audience was heartwarming! Once we finish the video we will post the talent show links!

5th grade Art students are making paper mache masks in class. They have come up with some pretty creative designs! Some students love the messy process.......some students not so much!

Recently our students have created some STEM projects for our "Toy Expo". Presenters have set up their games/projects and their peers have come down to test the games during WIN. It is amazing what our students can build and create!

6th grade Science students got the chance to code some drone instructions on iPads and then test those skills flying their drones to complete challenges!!

Our 5th and 6th grade band students did an amazing job tonight during the spring band concert! It's amazing to see the growth from the start of the year to now! We have some amazing musicians at CMS!

Can't wait to welcome our 5th graders into CMS this evening for our open house to meet your homeroom teacher!!! It's going to be a great school year! We will see you soon!

Happy Friday! Today was another great day of school at CMS. Students took part in many activities today including the Unity Theme Kickoff in 6th grade and learning about specials in 5th grade. It was a fun day of engaging activities throughout the building!

We had some guests at Canaan today! The Jonathan Alder Marching Band stopped in to perform their halftime show for us! We also kicked off our Cookie Dough Fundraiser today. Each student should have received a packet of information on this fundraiser!

The Way Station is alive! We have monarch caterpillars changing into chrysalis. Praying Mantis' on the move and butterflies everywhere. It is hard to believe that just a year ago this was all just grass!

A ratio activity today in Mrs. Kimbleton’s class with sixth graders where they have to match up the simplified ratio, to a picture, equivalent ratio, and then a real-life scenario. A lot of lightbulb moments during this activity!!

CMS is excited to kick off our "Donuts with Grownups" events starting this Tuesday! Bring your grownup and join us for some tasty treats and quality time together. ☕🍩 Check the attached flyer for specific dates and times for each grade level. Can't wait to see you there!
