Last night I was up past midnight coding w/Replit ⠕. Haven't done that sort of thing in a while. I finished with a working publisher flow, user auth, DB, and (almost) Google OAuth enabled. Total cost $11.50. My assessment of AI coding remains unchanged: cautiously optimistic. On

Gotta admit that while I still have many concerns about AI it was pretty exciting to build 2 mostly functional web apps with Cursor and Replit ⠕ (separately) late nights over the holiday break. Same vibes as bringing a website to life with nothing but FrontPage way back when.

After late nights with Cursor this week and really solid progress on another app, I'm even more convinced of this: There is no replacement for the human mind, heart, and gut. Human creativity, ingenuity, and craft will only become more important, not less.

If you’re a designer: NOW is the absolute best time to freelance or start a design studio with your friends. We’re hitting that part of the cycle where quality design shines again and the big brands paying big. GO. NOW.

Odd things I'm learning with Cursor: → I'm having a blast with this. I haven't felt this "alive" as a creator in quite some time. Call it context engineering, vibe coding, whatever you prefer... it's just *really* enjoyable. → I don't feel embarrassed asking it to make

as the pixels left to push in figma run out, so will the need for designers who can’t bring them to life join me and Amy Lima to see what the next generation of interaction design is beginning to look like maven.com/p/b2b164/vibe-…

If you're a seasoned creator/leader, your gut instincts are right more often than you think. When you ignore this in favor of logical or data-driven decisions 99.9% of the time, this can lead to poorer outcomes not better. "Guts are no bueno" is simply not true.

HUGE congrats to our $FIG friends today as the company goes public. While I'm not a Figmate, I couldn't be prouder of what you've accomplished and how Figma has completely transformed our industry tooling. Make us all proud today Dylan Field, 𝕞𝕒𝕩𝕧𝕠𝕝𝕥𝕒𝕣, ˗ˏˋ rogie xcx ˎˊ˗, Noah Levin & crew!

So excited to see what all the incredible (ex-)Figma employees will go out and build in the world! This is what’s so exciting about “financial exits” where employees benefit — a great seeding event. Lots of new little seeds being planted, lots of new ideas made into reality ✨
