A few examples of our work over the last few weeks including a couple of the new nuclear test medal.

1. Remembrance 2023 Harold Stanley Rivers 9th April 1917 G7/7105 Cpl Harold Stanley Rivers 7th Battalion The East Surrey Regiment Harold from Little Hungerford was the only son of George Rivers his mother Jane had sadly passed away. Harold played for the local football team

A special moment for the CG and DCG this week as they viewed the original medals awarded to Army Chaplain Rev Theodore Hardy, the most decorated non-combatant Officer of the Great War; VC, DSO, MC. Replicas are on display in the Royal Army Chaplains’ Museum : Faith In The Forces.

Tom Painting served with the KRRC before the start of WWI. He was taken prisoner in 1914, and in 1915 escaped a German prisoner-of-war camp with three comrades. During his year-long journey back home, his paybook and its contents deflected a bullet.

'Gone But Not Forgotten' is a temporary exhibition of the World War One memorial plaques in the Museum’s collection, along with the stories of their recipients. Included in the price of your admission, you can find the exhibition in the Kincaid Gallery, upstairs in the Museum.

A neighbour asked me about these medals. They are from an officer who served in the RASC, mainly in North Africa and Italy #WW2. Does anyone know what the #medal with the red and white ribbon on the extreme left is please?

Huge congratulations to WWII veteran Colin Bell 103, who has been awarded an Empire Medal for charitable services in the New Year Honours list.

F. F. E. Yeo-Thomas was a British agent who served with the Special Operations Executive (SOE) during World War II. Known by his codename “The White Rabbit”. Yeo-Thomas was captured by the Gestapo after being betrayed. He endured terrible torture. #SOE #yeothomas
