The cub lived only 3 weeks, yet its body became preserved for over 30.000 years, and now, as permafrost melts and another mass extinction looms, we can get a glimpse at one of the most iconic creatures of the last Ice Age. A reminder of how wondrous and fragile life on Earth is..

I have observed their mummies before and found that their noses are very different from modern white rhinoceroses. Their nostrils open and close downwards (ventral) instead of forwards. They are very close to the Sumatran rhinoceros at this point.

Result from the Bahariya Formation #paleostream! This piece felt a lot like coming home since my first ever large commission was about reconstructing the animals of Bahariya and Kem Kem.

My first peer-reviewed publication is finally out! After 5 years in the making from conception to completion, now I can finally tell the full story in the form of a thread. It'll probably be a long one, but if you want to read the paper instead: link.springer.com/article/10.100…

A mammoth cow and bull browse quietly together, their silhouettes mingling with a herd of bison as the light around them fades. Scientific evidence suggests that mammoths used their massive tusks for social, defensive, and foraging behavior, much like modern day elephants!

Very excited to finally share this artwork I made for the Virginia Living Museum (Virginia Living Museum)! This piece, a coastal ghost forest in Pleistocene Virginia featuring American Mastodons, is next to the fossil lab where bones from the Hart-Fiscella Mastodon were prepared.

Ischyrososmilus hunting Macrauchenia(^v^) Early Pleistocene, South America This is a giant cat that seems to be overlooked by everyone. Before the Smilodon, it was the king of South America and one of the largest cats ever recorded in South America(⌒▽⌒)
