I taught for over a decade. My first year teaching, a girl I taught got caught kissing another girl behind the gymnasium. She begged our admin not to tell them it was a girl - just say she got caught kissing someone. They refused. The next day she came in with a swollen jaw.

It’s the same date every year. Don’t let people give you the excuses as to why they can’t come to celebrate you at a meal or for a few drinks etc. They know when your birthday is. If you matter to them they’ll make sure their free/able to join you 😃
