One of my more right wing opinions and one that I think ought to be common sense: if someone breaks into your house, all bets should, as a rule, be off.

There’s a persistent myth that new solar farms don’t really help tackle climate change because panels are “made with coal” and “never pay back” their carbon debt. This is simply false. UN data show solar 8x cleaner than gas, 19x than coal per kWh. Solar repays CO2 in 4months.

Anyone know of any plug and play "Balcony Solar" (200-600W range) kits for North America(120V)? Seeking a system without a battery. evilSolarGuy Solar

It’s weird that this department actively opposed red light and speed cameras being deployed in the city, even though they would have been paid for by the province. This is important context to this tweet. #vanpoli

Get this. An electric school bus battery can store up to 200 kilowatt hours of electricity – enough to power 75 single-family homes for nearly two hours. 🚌 Learn about this vehicle-to-grid pilot: bit.ly/3K7cTrD #EverythingElectricVancouver #Vancouver #YVR

Anyone know what code changes were made to allow balcony solar in Utah? Utah Clean Energy Utah Office of Energy Development Interested to see what making those changes in Canada would look like. The plug and play nature of EcoFlow's Stream product would remove a big barrier.

2000 homes replacing 26 family homes. We have so much single family land, redevelopment into Multiplex, midrise and some high rise is the way.

I was pleased to support this tour of Mount Pleasant Substation and two Multiplex projects. The two Multiplex developments (due to City of Vancouver and BC Hydro developing a new process) were able to use overhead transformers and avoid a pad mounted transformer.

I was on the biggest solar farm in Canada with 1.5 million panels. The most interesting thing I saw was the solar panels have increased the yield of the grass by protecting it from the sun and wind. I've become friends with the farmer who is fifth generation and he has built

I’ll look forward to seeing how the debates evolves here but the argument that a ward system would improve turnout seems worth scrutinizing. The last Toronto election saw only 29 per cent of voters participating. Vancouver’s election was 37 per cent. spacing.ca/toronto/2023/0…

All good things come to an end. I got a free charge here 17 times last year. Hard to get because it was free, availability will improve now. Hopefully a still cheap price.

Electrification is vastly more efficient than combustion technologies: 🚘 An electric car uses about 75% less final energy than an ICE car. 🔥 A heat pump delivers about 4x more heat for the same energy input. Note: Of course efficiency will differ between models and context.

We have people in power making broad claims around certain drugs and autism that have been continuously disproven. The degree to which those comments can undermine public health, do harm to women who are pregnant, create anxiety for parents who do have children who are autistic –

Trump claimed last week at the UN: “They [China] build them, but they have very few wind farms. So why is it that they build them and they send them all over the world, but they barely use them?” Answer is: they actually do. China has more wind power than any other country.
