It’s not leadership to talk down to staff in front of other staff, parents, or students. It’s bullying.

Remember, Trauma is not something experienced just by children. So, be kind, patient, and supportive of your staff. colleagues, and even your admin because you never know what others may be going through. We need to check in on each other.

COVID learning gaps? Maybe. But my 5th grade daughter can cook herself 3 meals a day, responsibly logs in remotely for her education, and has technology skills beyond anything I can comprehend. These are life skills that the past year created.

I appreciate it when teachers correct student behavior without undermining the relationship. Those teachers earn the respect of their students.

The couple sitting next to me on this plane just wiped down their seats, tray tables, seatbelts and monitors with alchohol wipes - I just ate a jelly bean off the floor that dropped out of my bag!

Just a reminder that there is overwhelming research showing homework does little to improve achievement and can actually have negative effects. Recess however has many positive effects such as improved self regulation of emotions, improved interpersonal skills and focus!
