In Byron Voice this week, talented Year 12 artists Sana and Yixin explore what art can do for our emotional, social, intellectual, and creative lives - and how art is for everyone, not just a privileged few.

Valentine's Day at Byron College is a day of celebration for everyone! Cards, flowers, cake pops and serenades were given around the school, with money being raised for charity, and the whole school participating in a pop-up concert at lunchtime! We love Byron!

Congratulations to Ilia Kayakoparan who attended the 7th Athens Dance Festival yesterday. He danced in three categories (Cha-Cha, Rumba, Samba) and won the Gold Medal in all three!

Every Friday a dedicated group of dancers gets together at lunchtime to practise their steps with Dr. Fragkouli. We look forward to seeing them perform for the Greek National Day celebrations soon!

"Buen provecho!" Year 7 students created menus in Spanish, and then did a role-play ordering at a restaurant. They really enjoyed the activity and added their own touches to the acting - including fake moustaches, napkin over the arm, and even paper money to pay "la cuenta"!

This week, meet our Head of Student Development, Ms. Ellie Lioudaki - who came to us via Crete, Ioannina and Manchester! She is a strong advocate for Inclusion in Education and a key member of our Senior Leadership Team. We are lucky to have her with us!

Our Bronze Duke of Edinburgh participants enjoyed a hike at Imittos mountain last weekend. They had a chance to bond as a team and explore the outdoors in a session focusing on planning for the Adventurous Journey.

Our interactive display last month was about being a good digital citizen: Year 7,8 and 9 students shared their advice on the topic. It is important to remind ourselves that the internet is a valuable tool that needs to be used wisely whilst keeping ourselves and each other safe.

Congratulations to all who participated at Campion MUN over the weekend and especially to Bahar(year 9) Elisa, Melice and Elena(year 12) as well as John (Year 10) for winning awards. Special mention goes to Christina(Year 12) and Stephen(Year 13) who were Chairs of Committees.

Congratulations to Natalia (Year 13) who was invited to Campion MUN as a guest speaker. Natalia delivered an inspiring speech about the work of the charity she is involved in, as well as how peace and freedom are everyone's responsibility.

Y9 EAL students "invented" a new product and used persuasive techniques and negotiation skills to convince the investors in our "Dragons' Den" to invest on their product and close a good deal. Their English skills are profiting from these types of activities!

Earlier this week, our Year 9 First Language students marked Remembrance Day by crafting WWI-inspired Instagram posts. Drawing on the powerful language of wartime propaganda, they honoured the memory of those who served with creativity and respect.
