That's a huge basket from Cardoso. Still doesn't always lean into her own physicality the way she should, it's such a massive advantage when she puts her shoulder down like that.

The Sky took only 21 attempts behind the arc in that loss to Phoenix. They went 0-for-5 from 3-point range in the fourth quarter. Two of those attempts were desperation heaves in the final minute.

Ariel Atkins is not a big. In this post, I am talking about rim finishing by bigs. That is why I wrote "rim finishing from their bigs" in the original post. Because I am talking about rim finishing. By the bigs.

The Chicago Bulls are selecting Noa Essengue with the No. 12 pick in the NBA draft. Very interesting prospect. Second youngest player in this draft coming fresh off a pro season in Germany. Mobile enough to play on the wing with a 7-foot-1 wingspan. Still a lot of growth ahead.

Noa Essengue said the current Bulls player he's most familiar with is Matas Buzelis. Watched his trajectory from G-League Ignite to the NBA. Hasn't connected personally though with Matas (or any of his new teammates).

Noa Essengue on what he brings to the Bulls: "I think I can do pretty much everything — shooting, passing the ball, attacking the rim — but I think my biggest strength right now is the open court game."

Noa Essengue on leaving the German championship finals for tonight: “We talked a lot with all the staff from Ulm. And it was like, ‘If I get in the green room, I’m leaving.’ So on the day I learned I’m in the green room, the coach said, ‘Just go there, live your dream.’”

Marc Eversley says the Bulls will not comment on Billy Donovan's contract extension negotiations, but opens tonight by praising his "steady presence and deep commitment to player development." "He's someone who sets the tone in the building."

Marc Eversley said the Bulls were in contact with 3-4 teams ahead of them in the draft order tonight, but did not ultimately feel the need to trade up. “We felt comfortable that the player we wanted was going to be there for us.”

Matas Buzelis will participate in summer league in Las Vegas again this summer. Not decided how much he'll actually play, but he will be in training with that group — including Essengue.

The Lonzo Ball trade marks another deal where the Bulls front office prioritized young mid-level players with some experience over draft picks — and made another rare player-for-player swap in the process. Can this approach pay off? chicagotribune.com/2025/06/28/chi…

Matas Buzelis is only 20 years old, but he's leaning into his new role as a "mentor" to Bulls rookie Noa Essengue in summer league. How the pair are laying a foundation this week for what could be a long-term partnership: chicagotribune.com/2025/07/07/chi…
