A57 Snake Pass SHOULD reopen late afternoon when work complete. Loose chips are part of the bedding in process, sorry but its down to drivers keeping speed down and not digging up the new surface and not skidding all over the place.

A57 at Doctors Gate 15 mins ago, form your own opinion. Electronic signs say closed. msg to DCC highways, all it needs is a snowplough but missing in action as usual here, no good gritting on top of this!

‼️The A57 #SnakePass will be closed tomorrow (Weds, 20/3/24) from 8.30am to 3.30pm for pothole repairs. The closure will be from Bamford to Glossop with a signed diversion. Access for local residents and businesses will be maintained.

⌛️We’ll work as fast as we can but we may need to close the road the following day as well (Thursday 21/3/24). Sorry for any delays.

I think you’re right+ I’m wrong. I’m going to stay on Twitter for now. But I have deep concerns about the algorithm-I think something has happened to stop people with progressive politics reaching wider audiences. If you oppose NHS privatisation, RT this. Let’s see if I’m right!

Derbyshire CC An unwelcome return of traffic signals, all the money spent on giving us a mayor that we didn't want could have gone toward making a more permanent solution here. With the recent downpours and neglected road drainage expect further movement at other locations along the A57.

Derbyshire Times This is one of the oldest ROADS in derbyshire but has a TRO preventng vehicles use on it. Prosecutions to follow? I very much doubt it.

The photograph demonstrates why the closure includes cyclists, bike laid across the middle of the road on the blind brow of the summit. Residents still have access as do delivery drivers, we are all fed up of these stupid antics by idiots. Snake Pass Q buxtonadvertiser.co.uk/news/people/sn…

@SnakePassRoadA57 for those who are likely to be using this road through the winter months the journey could be more difficult now the trees are felled around Birchin Clough, drifting snow could cause problems down here.

BBC Yorkshire Only the deluded can think that by giving highways money to regional mayors instead of giving it to the highway authority will get essential maintenance such as drainage done. It won't, just as happens now money will be diverted to politicians pet projects. No hope!
