Love this bc I’ve been wanting this to happen ever since I heard it might. Canadian expansion is the smartest move. Grateful Larry brought the bid back to Toronto bc reminder — MLSE decided against it & Larry pushed to bring it back. SHE THE NORTH 🏀

Thankful the WNBA community blasted this so we caught it and called it out in The GIST USA sports biz newsletter. Appreciate you all and linked out to a few amazing quote tweets here. Ignorance is loud, but the truth is louder. 🗣️ thegistsports.com/article/male-j…

Brother_Almighty🌓 This is quite possibly one of the stupidest arguments I’ve ever heard — and I truly enjoy this podcast. When Magic and Bird came to the NBA in 1979 and the league had games on tape delay, do you think the other players in the league thought, you know what, we should take it easy

There’s something familiar, yet annoyingly disappointing about seeing this genre of tweet — the nonsensical stream-of-consciousness half-baked take — infiltrate women’s sports, now that the W is mainstream. 🫠

here's the thing: if caitlin came in and dominated from minute one, they would just be talking about how bad the wnba is. it's a lose-lose narrative driven by people committed to disrespecting women's sports because it reinforces their fragile masculinity and world view.

Oop, there goes another one. The uncomfortable reality is that some male journalists have more of a problem with Indiana Fever branding than any team that exploits Native American culture. It's kind of weird to name a sports team after an ethnic group, isn't it?

It's one thing coming from sports journalists who don't understand sports business, but now we have NBA players talking about removing competition from the women's game. I wish someone told Jeff to just give up and let the Suns win in 2021.

Monumental mismanagement? Do you think "girl sports" are different than "regular" (read: men's) sports? This is literally how pro leagues operate.

Responding to this, because I have seen a number of people say it. I don’t think of Kylie as a homemaker, I think of her as my wife. I think of her as a mother. She has an occupation, as do I, and we keep our house the best we can. Our marriage is a partnership, we are equals

Friends. It is OKAY if you are new to women's sports. I was new to a lot of it about 10 years ago, too. WELCOME. What is NOT okay is acting like you've been here, like your presence and voice is a GIFT to women's sports, and like you know better than the experts in this space!!

Pete, I want to preface this by saying I LOVE your work and listen to you every chance I can get But this take is dead wrong. As someone who works for the organization, we haven’t been booed ONCE at our home games this year. In fact, I’ve needed earplugs every single one.

One of them ones that laid the ground for me to walk on when it comes to this beauty side in sports & marketing yourself off the court! Always love you Sky! Skylar Diggins-Smith 💋

Bill Belichick wasn’t impressed by Caleb Williams through his two preseason games with the Chicago Bears. “Well, he wasn’t accurate, he was 10-for-20,” Belichick said. “There were a couple of highlight plays, but they weren’t that good.” (🎥: Inside the NFL)
