I finished the sea creature section of my critterpedia 🥺 It’s taken a little over a year but I did it. Only a handful of bugs and 1 fish away from completing it entirely now. I’m really proud of myself

Does anyone else struggle to write about themselves? I’m supposed to be doing a guest lecture next week and was asked for a bio *brain static* erases all I’ve ever stood for and done 😂

Accessibility is not just about the end result, but about the experience. If I can get it done, but it’s 10X more frustrating and takes 10X longer for me as a blind user, it’s not truly accessible. Ultimately, #a11y is about equity of opportunity as well as experience.

As someone who has experienced both a full time job and a chronic illness I can say with confidence that a chronic illness is like a full time job with no pay and way more overtime.

Sighted tester using screen reader: "This experience isn't good; screen reader doesn't announce enough." Blind, relies on a screen reader every day: "This is exactly what I want announced. Now I know if I want to dig in further or not." There's a difference. #InclusiveDesign

it's 🚨 International Albinism Awareness Day 🚨 !!! I’ve made a lot of posts about how albinism is depicted in film/books but I wanted to share what it’s actually like to live with this disease. There are stereotypes around this illness because people don’t understand it 1/21

I’m a chronically ill person who got COVID. So if I survive everyone will say “see you’re fine! What were you so worried about?” And if I die they’ll say “oh, well she had comorbidities 🤷‍♀️” People don’t care about the chronically ill/disabled. Ok, back to my COVID cave 🥱😴
