All of the ICUs are so full and in need of beds that we made some of ours into ICU beds for overflow. We’re only an ICU when it’s convenient for the hospital, otherwise we get treated like the red headed stepchild of the division and they fuck us on staffing and resources 🙄🙄🙄

I need to find a therapist, but it’s just so daunting to look for one. Are they covered by my insurance? Will I feel more comfortable talking to a man or a woman? Young or old? Are they accepting new patients? Will they have an opening on one of my days off? 🙃🙃🙃

Got dose #1 of the covid vaccine today. 💪🏼

Is there a term like “Sunday scaries” but for every single day before I have to go to work, no matter what day of the week it is?

Got my 2nd dose of the vaccine on Friday. So far no bad reaction like I’ve been hearing. I actually feel better after this one versus the first.

I literally haven’t been on Twitter in a year. I took a much needed break from a lot of social media. Burn unit is still a clusterfuck, but being able to see our patients make so much progress is worth it.

I would be so interested in learning what other burn centers around the country do as their go-to grafting for large percentage burns. Our staffing is absolutely shit so we couldn’t send any nurses to the ABA conference this year where one could ask other people. 🙃

My hospital basically said fuck nurses week and combined it with healthcare week. Our token of appreciation for working our asses off while super short staffed? A pair of fucking socks. But don’t worry, they have the institution’s branding on them to promote unity. 🖕🏼
