For the avoidance of doubt, this is really alarming and the result of years of underfunding. Royal Fleet Auxiliary sailors play a vital role in supporting the Royal Navy & UK resilience/defence. HMG neglects them at all of our peril…⚓️ news.sky.com/story/royal-na…

Five years ago Keir Starmer wanted us to make Jeremy Corbyn Prime Minister. Today, Keir Starmer doesn’t even think his predecessor is fit to be a Labour MP. Jeremy Corbyn hasn’t changed at all during this period. I suspect Keir Starmer will do and say anything to win power.

I also worked at the Bank of England - for seven years in the 1990s and am convinced it’s as important to challenge the Old Lady of Threadneedle St as to echo it. I witnessed how it got the ERM completely wrong, squandering billions in defending it and causing mortgage misery.

A soldier at today's Trooping of the Colour was the 13th consecutive member of his family to serve in the same regiment. The UK can often seem set to Year Zero. But largely hidden, there remains a Britannia Profound. It values history, duty and avoids change for change's sake.

Brussels has long relied on compliant states, client journalists and a quasi-religious belief that the ends of federalism always justify the means, no matter how undemocratic or opaque. It takes a maverick like Musk to show us that - for the EU - sunlight is the best disinfectant
