Poverty has a way of stripping people of their humanity. You can’t really relax, you can’t experiment and explore yourself because you’re too distracted with surviving. Most times it’s not a lack of ability, it’s just a lack of resources.

They fund scholars who write about redemption narratives. They don’t want complicated truths about our lives & deaths that center what can never be recovered. They don’t even want stories of how we made life despite what they did/do. They want to be centered in our freedom story.

Good economics literally saves lives. Because I know that my work can potentially make the world a better place, I do it with a heart of service.
