Apple seems to be working on using GPT directly in Siri as reported by 9to5Mac. Here's some insights I found from the iOS 17.4 IPSW 🧵 (1/n)

Just hacked together a quick wedding speech maker inspired by this tweet 👇 Impressed by how good it actually works 🥲 (examples are available on the following link) I’ll send free keys to whoever DM me, cheers! aivasays.com/wedding-speech… #buildinpublic #indiehackers

Yep. I can see that the impending menace of AI replacing developers is glooming upon us. I feel threatened like never before. /s

I’ve got a gig that needs me to integrate an existing html Bootstrap-based template to a Bubble project. I thought it’d be simple but it sounds like it’s going to be hell. Any tips how to deal with Bubble as a developer? #buildinpublic #indiehackers

Always surprised when I need to reuse Visual Studio on C# projects how stuck-in-the-past it is. How sluggishly slow it is and having to completely restart the editor all the time because of years-old bugs boggles my mind. #buildinpublic

Also special mention to whoever created EDMX and its visual database editor. What a complete mess. Powerful yet so broken. That old Microsoft way of making visual software has luckily died in favor of using configuration files, at least /mostly/ nowadays. Thank God.

Don't converge, don't comply. The web is the most important software platform exactly because this hasn't happened. Write your Ruby, your Python, your whatever with pride and a smile. I'd rather stop programming before writing biz logic in Go or Rust!

Thanks to Notion and its bad performance, lack of bugfixes and outages, I discovered Anytype. I couldn't be happier. Anytype's team and OSS approach will change the game. I highly recommend trying it out. It's worth the time and you can even import straight from Notion!

Did I just receive a morgen ad through official Fastmail email?! I’m paying premium for the service. Very disappointed. I expect product updates and announcements not sponsored ads. Are you this desperate? Running out of money or something?

I just got Doxed. My family has been doxed. Second Wind and former EIC of Escapist, Nick Calandra @jnickjcal, has weaponized his Discord server and is encouraging his thousands of patreon supporters to dox me. They did. And unlike certain other journalists who don't post

Update: I cancelled my Fastmail subscription and moved to another provider. Vote with your wallet right? Well I vote for politics and SPONSORED CONTENT to stay out of the services we PAY for. Once again, who are you sharing our information with, Fastmail?

Claude 4 just refactored my entire codebase in one call. 25 tool invocations. 3,000+ new lines. 12 brand new files. It modularized everything. Broke up monoliths. Cleaned up spaghetti. None of it worked. But boy was it beautiful.

Actually fascinating how terribly bad LLMs are at refactoring code. Try throwing a 4,000-line file and tell it to split the file into multiple smaller classes and watch it burn. Ironically, my worst experiences have been with Claude Opus and Sonnet. I ended up doing it myself...
