According to the NWS, we’re possibly looking at a once in a lifetime flood on the Buffalo River and its watershed. River levels potentially reaching 40 ft. Arkansas Hwy 65 bridge at Grinder’s Ferry is about 50 ft for reference. Stay tuned for this Biblical-level event! #arwx

Here’s a shot of Dry Creek from Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. And it’s still on the rise. Dry Creek feeds the Buffalo River and flows through Gilbert.

I love seeing these Buffalo River documentaries, but they always go to the same spots. Our family has been renting boats on the river for over 50 years and its hidden spots and stories remain a secret to only a handful.

On October 1, 2013, the Federal Government shut down, including the Buffalo River and public lands. However, today’s shutdown won’t affect your river trip no matter how long it lasts. The river is open and we’re still putting out boats!
