Doing this as well at the early stages. 3-5 year hold periods on investments and a deliberate 8 year horizon as opposed to 10. Not the standard playbook, but also not the standard VC.

All of this depends severely on the type of company you choose to work for. Are they excited about taking ideas from the bottom level? If not it won’t matter. Choose your company carefully. Choose a leader even more so.

Agreed here - no model is correct. Will also expect to see the opposite occur. Overhyping specific investments and getting crushed as consolidation happens.
