NEW PREPRINT: pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/37066379/ Intratumor heterogeneity is associated with worse outcomes and poor response to treatment across human solid organ tumors - so can we measure distinct responses in distinct cell types? Is that informative?

Fantastic talk on ML for genomic sequences by @jun90cheng At #CHIL23; Lots of great questions about when LLMs will adapt to non-NLP data. Another option is to add additional structure during PT, as Marinka Zitnik, I, & others explore in the paper below. nature.com/articles/s4225โ€ฆ

Come work with us! Want to study how cancer cells regulate genes and how that determines response to therapy? Want to use that to predict which patients will respond to specific therapies and empirically determine personalized treatment regimens? UNC Lineberger UNC Surgery

Finished "Bacteriophage T4 Infection" this morning. The thin white line at left, which folds up and down 10 times, depicts the length of the T4 genome. After I add a few finishing touches and make sure I haven't forgotten anything, I'll put the full-size file rcsb pdb ๐Ÿ’‰๐Ÿงฌ๐Ÿ’ป๐Ÿ”ฌ๐Ÿ’Š๐ŸŒฑ๐Ÿง ๐Ÿฆ .

Arjun Raj I usually recommend my students choose a supervisor, rather than a project. A project could change and will end. Mentorship can be life long. pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/24139033/

Last week we published a landmark paper in Nature describing the production of the world's leading vaccine adjuvant, QS-21, in yeast. This work will pave the way for affordable, readily available, effective vaccine adjuvants for the world.
