“Coming right up.” He grinned. Pressing a kiss to her forehead before heading to grab his phone

The phone call was quick. Tossing it on the counter as he made his way back to her

He wanted tonight to be perfect. She deserved perfect. Especially after everything they’d been through over the years

Peering over at her, he couldn’t help but beam. This was the perfect evening. He couldn’t ask for more.

A soft knock at the door drew his attention, looking over at her with a small smile; “Man they’re quick. I just hope it’s not Tim again.”

The fear was real, but so was the hunger; making his way to the door. A breath of relief when it wasn’t Tim. The transaction went smoothly, closing the door and making his way back to her with the pizza. “Foods here.”

“You and me both.” Placing the box down, moving to the cabinet to grab the duo some plates. “Grab the drinks?”

He knew he was going to catch hell for being late. She had every right to be mad. He was over an hour late. Raising his hand to her; an apology already on his tongue. “I’m so sorry hales.”

The pair were in sync. It was adorable and cheesy. Exactly what they’d deserved after all that they’d been through. He made his way over with the box, laying it down and opening it up. Grabbing the plates and placing them down so they could eat.

Following her lead. He made himself comfortable beside her. Starting to dig into his own food. This was a peaceful evening. Perfect.

Shifting his weight, he made himself more comfortable so they could have a discussion. “It went well. I wrote a few chapters. Not sure how good they are though.” He chuckled. “How about you? How’d your day go?”
