Gen. Maczek's 1st Polish Armoured Division closed the Falaise Pocket, liberated many towns in Holland, Belgium, France and the POW camp in Oberlangen. After the war, Maczek made Scotland his home. Denied a pension by the British, he worked as a bartender. britishpoles.uk/general-maczek…
