The war in Ukraine has sent a clear message: Europe must assume greater responsibility for the defence of our continent. Today in Berlin, NATO allies 🇬🇧🇩🇪🇫🇷🇮🇹🇵🇱 reaffirmed our joint commitment to ensure Ukraine prevails against Putin’s aggression.

🇬🇧 Today at the International Armoured Vehicle Conference in Farnborough, our first British-made Boxer was unveiled by Maria Eagle MP. British Army 🇬🇧's Boxer is powering economic growth by supporting 400 skilled jobs in Telford & Stockport, plus 1,000 more across the UK supply chain.

Germany and the UK have signed an updated Strategic Vision Statement for Cooperation between 🇬🇧 and 🇩🇪 Armies, following on from the Trinity House Defence Agreement. Chief of the General Staff Sir Roly Walker & Chief of the German Army Alfons Mais signed the document yesterday.

The 🇩🇪🇬🇧 Amphibious Engineer Battalion 130 in Minden is a shining example of 🇩🇪🇬🇧 cooperation. Under the Trinity House agreement, it will fulfil tasks as one entity within the NATO Force Model. Defence Minister Pistorius praised their comradeship & commitment during a visit.

Trainee officers from the Bundeswehr Command and Staff College visited the embassy today. Ambassador Berger spoke to them about the implementation of the Trinity House Agreement and the importance of the 🇩🇪🇬🇧 partnership for NATO when it comes to deterrence & defence.

🇩🇪🤝🇬🇧 The British Army 🇬🇧's Brigadier General Christopher Davies has been awarded the Bundeswehr Gold Cross of Honour in appreciation of his outstanding contributions towards increasing 🇬🇧🇩🇪 interoperability.

In Mar 1945, at Rees in NRW, during Op PLUNDER the British Army crossed the Rhine on bridges constructed by the Royal Engineers.  It was therefore fitting that last weekend the senior British officer of the joint 🇬🇧🇩🇪 Bridging Battalion was there to commemorate the feat.

On Thursday, Hamburg commemorated the 80th anniversary of the end of the war in Europe.  British Armed Forces personnel had the honour to participate.  Reflecting not just on the sacrifice of a previous generation but the excellent 🇬🇧🇩🇪friendship & cooperation that now exists.

Today, the Prime Minister has agreed a bespoke and ambitious security and defence partnership with the EU. It will support both economic growth and our collective security. This partnership will complement and reinforce NATO's role as the cornerstone of Euro Atlantic security.

The 🇬🇧🇩🇪 Amphibious Bridging Battalion 130 is critical in enabling land domain manoeuvre for NATO.  During Ex GRAND CROSSINGS they practised establishing crossings of the Rhein and Weser rivers and developing interoperability with their 🇮🇹🇳🇱 colleagues. #strongertogether
