Cat called 3 times on my travel home. I don't believe it's coincidental that this happens more frequently when it's dark. I'm intentionally avoiding eye contact. I carry my keys like this for a reason. It's hot, I'm likely to leave the house with bare legs. Men, do better.

Being harassed on our journeys home is far too normal. I've been followed, grabbed and (thankfully only) almost pulled into a car. These aren't our fears of walking, they're our expectations. And our guy mates are shocked when we explain how frequently this kind of stuff occurs.

It's sadly unsurprising that my last tweet was fuelled by the frustrations of being cat called numerous times as I was trying to get home and that the next is in anger of the disappearance of Sarah Everard, who too was just trying to get home.

Women are all too aware of the dangers that exist from simply being a woman and are already doing all they can to protect themselves. Men now need to be educated on these risks and what they can do to help.
