We had a final drive around the south and east of the Island taking in some other sights. Arreton is a beautiful place to visit with some Christian history too. Bembridge is a lovely setting too.

Another amazing day of results for my GCSE students. Over the moon for them all! New adventure begins in Sept as I continue working with one of my GCSE homeschoolers and teach A Level History!

Back into tutoring and teaching for another academic year. Exciting to have a new and enthusiastic KS3 homeschool group. They produced some lovely work on their understanding of history over the last week.

An email from one of my homeschool parents. It has been great teaching such an enthusiastic group! “He was so excited spotting the different characters from history he's been learning about in your class….he does love History and he's enthralled by all he's learning with you.”

Our 13 year old has been on a school trip to the Battlefields and has been sending amazing and moving photos with comments/statistics about each photo. Such an important trip for teenagers. #Battlefield #WW1

Lots of history last week spending a few days in Kent. Good use of our English Heritage membership. Visited Walmer and Deal castles. Fascinating to see Wellington’s boots and where he died. Deal is great fun - roaming the tunnels with a wooden musket!

We also visited Ramsgate. Fascinating to see the church/shrine to St Augustine and thus the start of Roman Catholicism and interesting that it was built by Pugin who also was the main builder Parliament. The boat which carried Churchill’s coffin was also in the harbour.

I am running four Remembrance sessions this year. The first one tonight was with the local Cubs. Excellent listening and discussion. Beautiful colouring too! Looking forward to the assembly at our primary school on Monday and then Beavers and Scouts next week. #lestweforget

Very respectful and thoughtful children from the youngest to the oldest during the Remembrance assembly with the local primary school this morning. #wewillrememberthem

'Many MPs, in five- or ten-years’ time, will claim sheepishly that ‘we didn’t know this would happen’, or ‘we didn’t vote for this’ when the disabled and the vulnerable are killed. But MPs cannot be allowed to claim ignorance.' ✍️ Yuan Yi Zhu buff.ly/3CQurVy

This is the slippery slope we are now on. We are now in a post-Christian nation where the biblical moral values which have been the bedrock of our culture and society are being thrown aside. #AssistedDying
