UNOSSC Director Dima Al-Khatib joined a UN Global Compact China Office event in #Beijing 🇨🇳 alongside over 150 high-level representatives to discuss implementation of key deliverables of the Belt and Road Initiative (#BRI) for the #SDGs Action Platform.

At yesterday's #BRI Forum, world leaders came together to mark ten years of the Belt & Road Initiative. With remarks from President Xi & UN Secretary-General António Guterres, the Forum emphasized the criticality of infrastructure as a pathway for social and economic development.

It was a pleasure to address Governments and business leaders at the #BRI High-Level Forum on Green Development. I spoke about the need for enterprises to ensure their projects are not only economically viable but inclusive and #sustainable. #UnitingBusiness

We are glad to see the total Chinese participants number of UNGC achieved 900+ in 2023 with an over 34% growth rate compared with 2022. More Chinese companies are working together with UN Global Compact to do business responsibly by aligning their operations with Ten Principles.

Their visits to China and participation in UNGC events brought invaluable insights to us. Let’s expect more actions built on that.

A series of Annual Milestones for UNGC China Office. We were delighted to hold the 2023 regional meetings in Shanghai, a big gathering for our colleague from Asia & Oceania Local Networks.

Special projects of UNGC China also embraced great results.#GDI for SDG pilot project held a parallel session "Resilient Global Industrial and Supply Chains" at 6th#CIIE. And A White Paper on Electric Vehicle Battery Carbon Footprint and Low-Carbon Circular Development.

Another project # BRI for the SDGs Action Platform published 3 guidebooks for responsible infrastructure business operation and held the annual meeting of the High-Level Steering Committee.
