The weird thing about becoming disabled and chronically ill is that I still feel the age that I was when I got sick. Years are passing, I’m watching myself age, but I’m not living.

Martin Lewis is my fave man on TV he's like financial batman, he just looked at the camera with eyes black as night&said "British Gas I WILL be speaking with u this week" on behalf of a 42 y/o mum of 2 whose bill stress is making her ill. If I was British Gas I would be shaking

Personally, I love it when the government appoint a rich businessman to determine a disability and not a medical professional with a level of understanding. Really reassuring! Can’t wait to hear what he has to say about complex brain injuries 😌

You will almost never see me “look like” I am in pain. All the screaming, shouting, crying, grimacing, shouting, writhing around… all that’s done in secret. Then I’ll sit/stand up, open my eyes wide, put on a smile, and everyone will think I’m doing great. That’s the reality.

This is a seminal moment: a Labour government cutting disability benefits. Not just continuing Tory levels. Cutting. This comes after a week of speculation, itself an act of cruelty by a government toying with people’s dignity. These cuts are disgraceful - and will cost lives.

disability benefits are not supposed to work for "businesses who need workers", they are supposed to work for disabled people who need to live, you evil fucking prick

I had a rare stroke at 17 which left me permanently disabled. Under Liz Kendall’s new reform I wouldn’t be entitled to PIP nor UC purely down to my age. An absolute monstrosity how we’re just going to let them get away with this. Illness doesn’t discriminate!! #DisabilityBenefits

The same man that was wearing a MAGA hat and was praising Tate recently??? These predatory men claim conspiracy theories but at its core they are just nasty, awful men. The only conspiracy is how they manage to get away with it for so long.

There's this entire myth that loads of people are faking/exaggerating sickness for some social/financial benefit, but the reality is that most people are actually pretending to be LESS sick than they are because that's what society demands.

people get so weird if you’re chronically ill and don’t constantly look like you’re unwell. like. stop creating a whole narrative about me based off some photos lol i have an entire life outside of pictures i choose to share
