The weird thing about becoming disabled and chronically ill is that I still feel the age that I was when I got sick. Years are passing, I’m watching myself age, but I’m not living.

Personally, I love it when the government appoint a rich businessman to determine a disability and not a medical professional with a level of understanding. Really reassuring! Can’t wait to hear what he has to say about complex brain injuries 😌

You will almost never see me “look like” I am in pain. All the screaming, shouting, crying, grimacing, shouting, writhing around… all that’s done in secret. Then I’ll sit/stand up, open my eyes wide, put on a smile, and everyone will think I’m doing great. That’s the reality.

There's this entire myth that loads of people are faking/exaggerating sickness for some social/financial benefit, but the reality is that most people are actually pretending to be LESS sick than they are because that's what society demands.
