.New College of Florida has lost 36 faculty for part or all of the upcoming academic year, representing more than 1/3 of total faculty (per provost Brad Thiessen at a BoT committee meeting today). FWIW: NCF has hired 15 new faculty with about 14 more negotiating/mulling offers.

They’re only hiring short-term visiting faculty right now, too. Permanent teaching position searches in STEM have failed this year.
