🔥 Halifax Professional Fire Fighters can no longer remain silent. From wildfire preparedness to staffing, from equipment failures to workplace culture, the problems within HRFE leadership are widespread and deeply concerning. Two years after the Tantallon wildfire destroyed

HRFE met its own response standard only 67.8% of the time in 2025. That means we have virtually no capacity to manage more than one major incident at a time. When a structure fire is already underway, the chance of meeting that same standard elsewhere drops to near zero.
