Formalized gameplay = A TON of downtime in youth baseball. Informal gameplay = running bases, “sandlot” games, etc have significantly more action. Kids engaged. Parent obsession with formalized gameplay - for their own egos - has been the downfall of baseball.

The best systems always start with 1 play. It’s the foundation, the identity. The one play you can call 100 times and still win. What’s yours?

Steve Johnson (@legkicknationog) 's Twitter Profile Photo

There is ONE THING that matters: Be very good. The “game” of recruiting is an illusion. Parents think they can buy their way to a seat in the game of recruiting musical chairs. “We just need exposure.” But almost always y’all getting exposed not getting exposure.

Great teams aren’t built on special plays. They’re built on boring reps. Executed with obsession. Master the fundamentals every day.
