A vegetation fire in the area of Skyline and Grass Valley has gone to a 3rd alarm. Approximately 50+ firefighters responding to this incident. No structures are currently threatened.

Update 3) Fire Chief Damon Covington provides incident update at the scene of tonight‘s 3 alarm vegetation fire near Grass Valley and Skyline Boulevard. Fire is now contained forward progress stopped. Crews will be on scene and in the area throughout the night.

This incident could have been a lot worse if fire station 28 was still closed. This was their first due district. Engine 28 is in service after being browned out, along with Engine 25 and Engine 10, which were all closed. Happy to see that no structures were lost & no injuries
