Much like remote workplace environments that have become commonplace, #telemedicine is here to stay, say researchers, and so should insurance coverage enacted during the pandemic for certain audio-only visits. bit.ly/3XiK9P0

We can be patient-centered and deliver safe, high quality care and also acknowledge the current state based licensure system doesn’t fit in today’s rapidly transformed care delivery model. Time to find some middle ground! Appreciated the chance to comment in JAMA

Glad to see some add’l #telehealth extensions in the Omnibus. Still a lot of work to beyond this, but if passed, would: 1) extend telehealth coverage for Medicare until end of 2024, incl FQHC 2) expand eligible provider types, 3) cont. audio only, 4) extend hospital and home.

#PHE ending, many #telehealth policies extend til end of '24, major barriers arise May 11. CMSGov must add flexibility for provider enrollment (virtual care from anywhere not just clinic) & supervision (in-person supervision req'd for virtual care??) Andrey Ostrovsky, MD, FAAP Nathaniel Lacktman

Telehealth has become an essential piece of care delivery. Join the virtual care conversation at @americantelemed’s ATA2023 Annual Conference & Expo, taking place March 4-6 in San Antonio.

Hopefully good news re: temp notice from DEA on telehealth RX. Hoping DEA HQ comes to senses & makes tele flexibilities permanent. Healthcare access does not need further reg burden. Patients over paperwork. Nathaniel Lacktman Andrey Ostrovsky, MD, FAAP American Telemed reginfo.gov/public/do/eoDe…

Important extension for #telehealth prescribing flexibilities from DEA HQ Details still to come, and permanent solution still needed - let’s keep patients over paperwork, and avoid further barriers to accessing care. dea.gov/documents/2023…

Born in Missouri, raising my daughter in Baltimore, and as a physician at Johns Hopkins Medicine, just praying the Kansas City Chiefs, Baltimore Ravens, Travis Kelce, Jason Kelce, and Taylor Swift can find a way to make it to the kiddos in the Children’s Center before the game!

“Our vision is that researchers, entrepreneurs, investors and companies will look to Baltimore as the place to develop and launch products and companies based on data science/AI technology,” said Christy Wyskiel, director of JHTV. bit.ly/47U5Hpi

Great to sit down with HIMSS and talk about our early #GenAI work at Johns Hopkins Medicine. Credit to our clinical, IT, and informatics teams for thinking about practical ways to solve real problems for our clinicians and patients healthcareitnews.com/news/ai-can-un…
