This chart shows how the main transit agencies in the Bay Area were funded before the pandemic. Agencies that got most of their funding from fares like BART are struggling the most right now because ridership isn't fully back yet.

With all our challenges, SF & Bay Area can & will recover. But allowing public transit to crater is one of the most efficient ways to undermine that recovery. We must throw our transit systems a lifeline as their ridership gradually recovers. We’re working to make that happen.
