One of the keys to dense urban livability is being able to access different scales of nature pretty easily. Vancouver’s remarkable Stanley Park isn’t quite as famous as Central Park, but it’s frequently ranked among the best parks & destinations in the world. My pic from Helijet

Many are up in arms over NYC DOT's plans for 34th St. They obviously haven't seen 14th St Busway which is incredible for transit, pedestrians & access for FDNY, EMS & NYPD. Check out our Streetfilms (Now 1,118+ films!) which I shot in ~30 minutes yesterday! Streetsblog New York Open Plans Transportation Alternatives

We certainly did explain how the proposed approach to tall buildings related to/compared with past council approvals, because I think that’s certainly relevant. To carry 50,000 people per hour in each direction, a city needs a 175m wide road for cars. Even if those cars are electric. And then there’s the parking. OR a city can move A LOT MORE people in a lot less space, with A LOT LESS public money and pollution. Via UITP
