By the time we get to the 1950s does Akira Kurosawa just tell Takashi Shimura “hey next movie is shooting these dates” without even telling him the movie or role? 14 movies in and bros in all but 2. Haven’t seen any AK movies from the 70s so curious to see how long they lasted.

Killers I Feel would sadly go down on a rewatch. I would love to know what this guy and other Osage historians think of the “there were no mention of the murders scene” given actual history

Wow. Akira Kurosawa’s I Live in Fear. Maybe his saddest and most humanistic work? Mifune might beg the best actor I’ve ever seen. There is a scene where he breaks down and just wow. Could make a case this is his strongest performance .

Maybe I live in Fear should be just behind as opposed to just in front of Drunken Angel but man I thought it was pretty good
