Appalling editorial decision on two levels... violence against women is a national scourge and suggesting any public figure is in the ‘crosshairs’ is irresponsible and potentially dangerous. It would be easy to make the political point without implied violence. Please apologise.
We’re beaming at the progress made in Kensington this month to support the construction of the western tunnel entrance of the Metro Tunnel.

Here’s the view from above our major works on the Sandringham line at South Yarra. Over 18 days, our crews were busy building the second roof slab for the Metro Tunnel’s eastern entrance. (1/2)
The team poured more than 450 cubic metres of concrete and installed 162 tonnes of steel reinforcements to make it all happen before reinstating 160 metres of track, ballast and overhead signalling in time for the return of services on Sunday morning, 9 June. (2/2)
Kensington Community Children's Co-Operative visited the future entrance of the Metro Tunnel to learn about the construction taking place in their area. The children had plenty of tricky questions for our lead engineer who was very impressed with their knowledge of construction

Do you even lift bro? 💪
🏗️ Last week, the team installed a temporary bentonite facility over Kensington Rd. A dual lift of the 34-tonne gantry was completed with the help of a 250-tonne crane and 200-tonne crane. (1/2)
The 38-metre-long gantry will pipe bentonite from our Hobsons Road work site to the Childers Street site to build the walls of the Metro Tunnel entrance. (2/2)

The Spring Blitz has kicked off with major works taking place in the rail corridor between Tottenham and Kensington.
We’ve been busy constructing new pieces of track, removing track and overheads, and getting stuck into the big job of transforming the western corridor. 👷♂️🚧👷♀️
🦅 Here's a birds eye view of Spring Blitz work out west. 🦅 The crew has removed a significant amount of track and is now completing earthworks. Once complete, the Metro Tunnel will create room for 113,000 more passengers every week on the Sunbury Line during peak periods.
We’ve started digging the eastern tunnel entrance at South Yarra. With the foundations and roof of the tunnel now in place, excavation is in full swing. Concrete will be sprayed onto the walls for structural support as we dig another two metres to the final excavation level.
Trains are back up and running on the Sunbury line! 🚆 Thank you for your patience during the 12-day construction blitz along Melbourne’s western rail corridor.
Visit the Metro Tunnel team at Spinifex Cafe in Kensington this Saturday to view the latest designs for Childers Street and new public spaces around the future Western Tunnel Entrance. 🚇 Drop by between 9am and 11am to have a look at the designs and chat with the project team.👷♀️
