Amb. Marcos Arbizu was received today by NZ Deputy PM & Foreign Affairs Minister, Rt Hon Winston Peters Winston Peters. In 2024, 🇧🇷 and 🇳🇿 celebrate 60 years of diplomatic relations guided by friendship, cooperation and shared visions in many issues.

Ambassador Arbizu hosted a group of Brazilian exchange students from Hutt Valley High School. They toured the embassy and were treated to Brazilian snacks to remind them of the comforts of home.

As a special guest, Brazil is participating for the first time in the Pacific Islands Forum Leaders Meeting in Tonga (August 26-30). The forum brings together 18 member states, associate members, observers, the UN and dialogue partners. #PIFLM53

Brazil was represented by #Itamaraty’s Secretary for Asia and the Pacific, Ambassador Eduardo Saboia, who, accompanied by 🇧🇷’s Ambassador in Wellington, Marcos Arbizu, handed a letter from President Lula to Tongan Prime Minister Siaosi Sovaleni - Huakavameiliku, host of the Summit.

Siaosi Sovaleni - Huakavameiliku 🇧🇷’s participation in the meeting reflects the strengthening of relations with Pacific Island nations. As the host of COP30 in 2025, 🇧🇷 joins the Forum's commitment to sustainable climate policies.
