Ronald Acuña Jr will likely be activated at some point today…but who goes? I wonder if C Sandy León will get the DFA. Since Sean Murphy/Drake Baldwin aren’t playing every day at C/DH, there’s no real need for a 3rd catcher. He’s only had one PA in the 3-1/2 weeks he’s been up.

18 y/o Braves first-round pick Tate Southisene gets a taste of full-season ball for the final three weeks of Augusta’s season.

45 pitches for Daysbel Hernández and 58 for Austin Cox. At least one of them is going to be optioned (if not both) to Gwinnett tomorrow.

The Braves have a 40-man spot for Fraley but he does not have any options so someone will have to go. It’s likely a DFA for Vidal Bruján unless someone goes to the IL.

For those who are not enjoying The Connor Seabold Experience, he doesn’t have any options remaining so he could be a one-and-done.

Over the last 80 years, only 2 MLB pitchers age 23 or younger have, over their first 4 appearances in a season, produced 4 wins and 20+ Ks while allowing 2 or less earned runs (min. 20IP) Fernando Valenzuela in 1981 Hurston Waldrep in 2025 #BravesCountry

Why should Braves fans pay attention to this? Nick Allen homered off of Cobb TWICE IN ONE GAME back in 2023. The Braves visit Detroit Sept 19-21 in what could be Allen’s best chance to hit a home run this season.

Tyler Kinley’s performance since being acquired from Colorado is going to merit consideration for picking up his $5MM (so far) option for 2026. 10 G, 9.2 IP, 5 H, 1 ER, 5 BB, 10 K 0.93 ERA/2.91 FIP/4.32 xFIP If he finishes two more games, that adds another $500K for next year.
