Shipyards are behind because America spent decades gutting skilled trades and disrespecting the people who actually build things. Now the welders are old, machinists are retiring, the pipeline is dry, and leadership wants miracles. You can’t rebuild industry with PowerPoints.

I think Zohran's co-opting of efficiency from the right will be seismic for the American socialist project. We need to run a national campaign against The Contractor State—neoliberalism's grand, massively inefficient outsourcing of government functions to private contractors.

We’re seeing Mamdani, Talarico, and Platner running on issues and morals that matter to the working class Americans and they are surging in the polls. Mamdani is the dems most popular politician. And y’all telling me the youth wants centrist-like candidates? 😭

“I want to play another game, Anon. Every year I’m going to give you 5% more money and every year I’m going to increase your cost of living by 9%. Eventually you’ll make more money on average than anyone in human history yet possess far less than your parents or grandparents.”

Long commutes on transit are often quite nice. You can read a book, watch a show, look at the scenery, etc. without worrying about driving. Long car commutes, however, are universally awful and draining.

There is NO reason any of us should have to thrive in a fast-paced environment or work well under pressure. Most of our daily work is not an emergency, and our culture of fake urgency and immediacy, just to make more profit for the C-suite, is burning people out.

I keep waiting for things to get really hedonistic and fun since everything sucks. instead it appears that Americans are going to spend the fall of our empire scrolling on their phones watching short form content or arguing about delivery apps
