It never occurs to these people that the both sides could lose. The US hasn't fought a proper war in 80 years, and like the rest of the West is in it's biggest recruiting crisis in in 50. We're not going to fight a conventional war with the Russkies, put down the crack pipe.

A common refrain from the antigun types is that this country wouldn't abide armed black groups protesting. Except it does, and it did so all through the summer of 2020 (in the allegedly racist South, no less). The only incident I'm aware of was when NFACer ND himself in the foot.

In the current year, it is considered a virtue to empathize with those with whom we share a planet but not with those with whom we share a neighborhood. I find this weird.

Hannah Arendt wrote that the reason Nazi experimentations and euthanasia were seen as shocking was that Germans were considered the most scientific, advanced and rational society in Europe. It was the logical end of pure scientific rationalism to end the lives of the unwanted.
