There goes the no-no. Severino gave up no hits into the 8th. Battle of former Yankee pitchers with Taillon on the hill for the Cubs.

By Saudi Arabia letting it be known their intent to normalize relations with Israel, it doesn't matter when they follow through. (Unless this really is just a trial balloon).

Good to see this book in the wild... It's a collection of historiographical essays on American slavery, organized thematically. I wrote the intro, the overview chapter, the chapter on emancipation, and the bibliography. Lots of good scholars contributed.

Interesting piece on how and why campus protests at Rice and U of Houston didn't spiral into the chaotic scenes elsewhere (inc. UT-Austin). Seems like both sides found a way to let them proceed without being very disruptive.

It’s pretty amazing just how much this website creates completely different realities about supposedly similar events. When you have some offline knowledge of what is actually going on, this site is even more useless.
